SciFinder Scholar 2004.2 Release

SFS 2004.2 is now available from the SciFinder Scholar Client Download site at UCLA (access to this site is restricted to UC IP addresses).

2004.2 offers improved scrolling (PC’s only) and access to the SciFinder Scholar Toolbar for IE. If you are not sure what version you are running, you can check by going to Help >> About SciFinder Scholar the next time you’re in SFS.

This is a “full-installation” version that will overwrite SFS 2004 during installation. The new site.prf file, which you download and extract to the SciFinder folder, has a shorter timeout feature–10 minutes instead of 20–to maximize the number of available user seats.

The full release of SciFinder Scholar 2005 with programming to benefit MAC OS users finally, is targeted for late 2005.
