UCSD Physics Professor Wins 2004 E.O. Lawrence Award
September 24, 2004 on 11:40 am | In News & Events | Comments OffA professor of physics at the University of California, San Diego has been named to receive the U.S. Department of Energy’s highest honor, the E. O. Lawrence Award.
Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham today announced that Ivan Schuller of UCSD’s Division of Physical Sciences and Department of Physics is one of seven winners of the 2004 E.O. Lawrence Award, given for outstanding contributions in the field of atomic energy, broadly defined. Each winner will receive a gold medal, citation and $50,000 at a ceremony in Washington, DC on November 8. Read more.
Three At UCSD Named To List Of Top Young Innovators
September 21, 2004 on 10:51 am | In News & Events | Comments OffA graduate student, postdoctoral researcher and faculty member at the University of California, San Diego, have been named to the 2004 list of the world’s 100 Top Young Innovators, which was announced today by Technology Review, MIT’s Magazine of Innovation.
Jamie Link, a chemistry graduate student, Lei Wang, a postdoctoral researcher in pharmacology, and Serge Belongie, an assistant professor of computer science, were named among the 100 individuals under age 35 whose innovative work in technology has a profound impact on today’s world.

The Science & Engineering Library is one of 3 campus libraries that are publicizing the drive and making registration forms available for students, faculty and staff.
