Best Literature Awards 2004
March 24, 2004 on 5:59 pm | In News & Events | Comments OffThe S&E Library awarded Sarah Healy and Mary E. Belik, from the Department of Bioengineering, and Manuel F. Herrador, from the Structural Engineering Department, a $50 gift certificate to the UCSD Bookstore for having the posters with the best literature reviews. Their posters along with other Jacobs School of Engineering Research Review award-winning posters will be on display in the S&E Library. This is the second year S&E awarded the prize. Two awards were given this year.
Access to the CrossFire Beilstein and Gmelin databases
March 24, 2004 on 5:57 pm | In Other New Resources | Comments OffUCSD Science & Engineering Library is pleased to offer access to the CrossFire Beilstein and Gmelin databases for UCSD faculty, staff and students through a new CDL arrangement. Gmelin is a new online resource for UCSD. Beilstein access will now change to a new user name/id/password/ server configuration - you must change your parameters that use the old Wisconsin server by March 2004.
S&E e-Reference Tools
March 24, 2004 on 5:48 pm | In Other New Resources | Comments OffThe Science & Engineering e-Reference Shelf is a collection of ready reference resources and tools on the Internet in the science and engineering subject disciplines. It includes many important reference resources, such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, manuals, converters, and other general resources selected and arranged for the use of the UCSD community. Other users on the Internet are welcome to browse the Reference Shelf. Some resources may be restricted by license to the students, faculty, and staff of the University of California; these will be flagged “UCSD only.” The S&E e-Reference Shelf was developed by the reference staff of the UCSD Science & Engineering Library.
