Warning: Phishing attempts for UCSD network information

The ACS Help Desk is receiving reports that tech-support@ucsd.edu is sending spam to UCSD email addresses in an attempt to deceive account holders to supply their login credentials. As always please do not reply to email that asks for your password or other personal information. We will never ask for a password in an email, and in general, you should never send sensitive information like passwords in an email. Please call or check our website for up to date information regarding email and network service.If you have mistakenly responded to the email, please change your password immediately using the global password change tool: http://acs.ucsd.edu/account-tools/gpasswd.shtml

Attached below is an example of a fake UCSD email:

We are currently upgrading our data base and e-mail account center.We are deleting all unused ucsd.edu email accounts to create more space fornew accounts.To prevent your account from being closed, you will have to update it belowso that we will know that it's a present used account.

Support on July 4th

The ACS Help Desk will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observation of Independence Day.  Regular support hours will resume on Saturday, July 5th at 3:15pm. If you live on campus and would like to report any network outages, please call5 858-534-3227 and leave a message.

[UPDATED] AP&M Network Hardware Upgrade (6/24 6am-8am)

[The upgrades were completed at 7am] Several ACS services may experience intermittent connectivity on June 24th between 6am and 8am due to a network hardware upgrade in AP&M.

[UPDATED] Webmail upgrade 7:30am Mon. 6/23

UPDATE 2: as of 5:30pm the “enable mbstring” issue should be resolved for users who have configured Webmail to use Chinese, Japanese, or other Asian languages.

UPDATE: As of 7:35am ACS-Webmail is back online. Please report any problems to acs-help@ucsd.edu or 858-534-3227.

We will update software on ACS-Webmail this Monday morning between 7am and 7:30am. Please be sure to logout prior to 7am.

[UPDATED x2] Downtime for ieng9, iacs5, sdcc12, sdcc3 and bioinf - 6/20

[UPDATED: ACS is currently looking into issues with POP3 on bioinf]

There will be short periods of downtime for ieng9, iacs5, sdcc12, sdcc3 and bioinf on 6/20 between 6:30-7:30am for system updates.
